Clinical Dietitian

Overview

Sentara's RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg, VA is currently hiring a Clinical Dietitian. This is a Flexi Day shift opportunity. As a Dietitian with Sentara, you will be responsible for managing patient s medical nutrition therapy that includes assessment and diagnosis of malnutrition, nutrition-focused physical exams, recommendations on diet and oral supplement prescriptions, and the volume, rate, and composition of parenteral and enteral feedings.

A Registered Dietitian Credential is required. If not credentialed (RD, RDN) at hire, must obtain within 9 months.

We provide safe, competent evidence-based nutritional therapy that meets the scope of practice per the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and in accordance with the medical staff-approved clinical practice standards.

We work collaboratively with the health care team, food service department, and other nutrition professionals.

• Manage patient medical nutrition therapy including assessment, diagnosis (malnutrition) and nutrition-focused physical exams.
• Provide diet and oral supplement recommendations and manage parenteral and enteral feeding therapy in collaboration with the health care team.
• Participate in clinical nutrition rounds and contribute to care plans aligned with evidence-based standards.
• Work as part of the Clinical Nutrition Team to support department goals and quality care.

• Bachelor s degree in Dietetics or related field.
• ACEND-accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics completion.
• Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential required.
• If not credentialed at hire, must obtain RD/RDN within 9 months.
