Emergency Department Technician

The ED Technician assists the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse in implementing plans of care for emergency/minor emergency care patients. Performs patient procedures and treatments under the supervision of the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse.

Multiple shifts available

• One of the following in addition to minimum education:
  • EMT‑B with state or national certification at time of hire
  • Successful completion of US Military Hospital Corps School (qualified MMAC candidates)
  • Current student enrolled in a clinical program (e.g., RN, LPN, Respiratory, Physical Therapy) who has completed at least one semester
  OR prior employment in the Sentara ED tech job code within the past two years
• HS Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire
• Clinical experience (Required)
• De‑escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire
