DaVita is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide compassionate care in an outpatient dialysis center. You will receive paid, extensive training and work alongside nurses, dietitians, social workers, and other PCTs to deliver safe and effective dialysis treatments. This role is an entry point into the healthcare field with clear pathways to higher responsibility through our Clinical Ladders program.
Responsibilities- Direct patient care: spend the majority of your shift in one‑on‑one patient care, ensuring safe, comfortable, and hygienic dialysis treatment.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis by recording vital statistics, observing patient responses, and maintaining the hemodialysis machine.
- Educate patients on kidney dialysis topics and build long‑term therapeutic relationships.
- Support a cross‑functional clinical team under the supervision of an RN.
- Potentially float to various clinics during and after training.
- Maintain physical fitness to work long hours and be comfortable with blood and needles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Desire to enter the healthcare field and care for people in need.
- Comfortable working around blood, needles, acid mixtures, and phlebotomy.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts exceed 12 hours). Comfortable on your feet and wearing protective shoes.
- Training experience (CNA, CMA, phlebotomy, or other healthcare certifications) is a plus.
