Location: Harrisonburg, VA – Onsite

Shift: Rotating – Full Time (36 hrs/wk)

Sentara RMH Medical Center is hiring a Clinical Pharmacist for our Inpatient Pharmacy team. The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for the provision of safe, effective, and prompt pharmacy services, participating in all aspects of the medication‑use system while delivering comprehensive, individualized care to patients within their assigned areas.

• Demonstrate the ability to work in all areas of pharmacy practice competently and independently
• Manage patient drug therapy in accordance with applicable clinical practice standards
• Ensure the appropriateness of all medication orders to maintain a high level of patient care and safety
• Maintain current knowledge of medication use and disease states applicable to the practice area
• Serve as primary resource for drug information and education
• Provide in‑depth patient counseling when required
• Participate in the training of new employees as assigned
• Assume local responsibility and ownership for assigned tasks
• Consistently follow policies and procedures
• Seek additional training opportunities and stay abreast of new and changing information
• Demonstrate superior customer service, effective communication, decision‑making, and organization to ensure efficient job performance
• Model professionalism, collaboration, and teamwork
• Ensure adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
• Triage and escalates questions or issues outside the scope of practice as needed
• Use appropriate systems for processing patient information
• Maintain quality assurance according to departmental and legal requirements
• Operate pharmacy equipment appropriately
• Precept pharmacy students as assigned
• Other duties may be assigned as required

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (required);
  Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy (preferred)
• Licensure: Virginia Pharmacist License (required);
  Basic Life Support (BLS) (required);
  Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (preferred)
• Experience: 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience (preferred);
  Oncology experience (preferred);
  Residency training (preferred)
