The Engineering Field Technician is a full-time position with benefits and a preferred hiring range of $19.15 - $20.59 per hour (equivalent to $39,832 - $42,827 annually); however, an exact salary will be dependent upon the selected candidate's qualifications/experience and in compliance with City policy. Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications for the Engineering Field Technician Senior classification may be considered at that level.
Join our team as an Engineering Field Technician and engage in vital technical work by inspecting and assessing the condition of Public Utilities water and sewer system assets. You'll accurately locate and mark City-owned water and sewer lines to support planning and proposed land disturbances under the MISS Utility Program. Additionally, you'll perform related tasks as needed to support our infrastructure and community needs.

- High school diploma or GED and minimal experience in public utilities maintenance, repair, installation, and/or construction work. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be used to meet this requirement.
- Valid driver's license.
- Availability, as needed, to periodically respond for emergency assistance related to public utilities.

The selected candidate for this position will be subject to the following screenings and must receive satisfactory results:
- Job-specific physical;
- DMV driving record review;
- Criminal background check.
