- Demonstrate commitment to the Office of Student Accountability and Restorative Practices mission and the University’s value statements.
- Maintain confidentiality under FERPA and other privacy laws.
- Hear cases alleging policy violations, weigh evidence, and assign appropriate educational outcomes.
- Actively participate in weekly case‑hearing meetings.
- Attend one Student Government Association meeting each semester.
- Assist full‑time staff with coordination and administration of investigations and cases as needed.
- Assist the SGA and OSARP staff in recruiting and hiring Student Case Administrators for the upcoming year.
- Provide support to Substance Education programs by reviewing content submissions for virtual programs, conducting substance‑use research, and updating program materials.
- Coordinate and administer OSARP educational programs with the Coordinator and Assistant Director.
- Attend pre‑duty staff training and participate in ongoing professional development.
- Receive professional progress feedback through weekly or biweekly meetings with the Graduate Assistant supervisor and semesterly meetings with the Coordinator of Educational Programs; participate in formal staff evaluation processes.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with legal requirements such as reporting to the Title IX Office, campus security authority reporting (Clery Act), and FERPA record‑keeping.
- Assist with additional projects and duties as assigned.
- Students must be degree‑seeking and enrolled on at least a half‑time basis (6 credits undergraduate, 5 credits graduate).
- Meet eligibility requirements outlined in the JMU Student Employee Handbook.
