JMU Parking & Transit Services seeks students for part‑time employment in enforcement and special events programs. Students must work a minimum of 8 hours per week and may work up to 20 hours per week.
Duties & Responsibilities- Patrol the campus and issue citations to vehicles parked in violation of JMU parking regulations.
- Participate in parking operations for campus special events.
- Assist visitors with directions and general campus information.
- Comfortable interacting with the public in a professional and courteous manner.
- Capable of working efficiently without direct supervision.
- Able to work outdoors on foot in a variety of weather conditions.
- Flexible to work alone or in partnership with teammates.
- Students set their own schedule in 2‑hour increments, except for mandatory special events.
- Students may be required to return early for move‑in operations at the beginning of the academic year and remain on campus at the end of the year for move‑out and graduation duties.
- Regular hours are available from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Monday–Thursday; 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM Friday; 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Saturday.
Students must be degree‑seeking on at least a half‑time basis (6 credits for undergraduates, 5 for graduate students). After acceptance, new hires must complete an I‑9 form and the university will verify eligibility through the E‑Verify system.
