Breeze Editor-in-Chief - IE
Join the College of Arts and Letters at James Madison University as the Editor-in-Chief for The Breeze for the upcoming academic year.
Position is part-time Institutional Employment, Non-Exempt. Start date April 1; training during March. Must be back on campus two weeks prior to fall semester.
Duties and Responsibilities- Lead the staff in creating online and print journalism about James Madison University.
- Oversee section editors.
- Make editorial and coverage decisions.
- Uphold journalistic ethics and standards.
- Served on The Breeze staff as a section editor for at least one semester.
- Ability to lead a team toward a common goal.
- Strong writing, editing, and content‑management skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
Students must be degree‑seeking and enrolled at least half‑time (6 credits undergraduate, 5 credits graduate).
After acceptance, new hires must complete an I‑9 and provide work‑authorization documents. James Madison University uses the E‑Verify system.
