Schedule

This is a full time position, 40 hours per week. Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm is the typical schedule, however there are times when the schedule does need to accommodate consumer needs. This will be discussed further in an interview.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $69,359–$88,162 depending on experience.

Job Summary

The Charge Nurse assists the Nurse Administrator in creating an environment of consumer-focused care, ensuring standards for quality consumer care, managing and developing work‑based teams, training health services staff and providing supervision and leadership to the local nursing team. The Charge Nurse is also responsible for overseeing, planning, coordinating, and evaluating nursing operations for assigned locations including population health and interface with health system.

Responsibilities and Duties: Supervise local care delivery systems to ensure clinical quality, accuracy and consistency, appropriate work assignments, efficient scheduling, and overall team performance. Provide clinical expertise in medical, behavioral, and crisis management. Coordinate with the Clinic Nurse Care Managers and Medical Assistants and/or Nurse Administrator to accomplish agency and patient‑care goals. Recognize and assist in solving clinical and administrative problems and implement nursing policies and procedures.

Communicate with consumers and families to address care‑related concerns. Monitor patient medications, treatment, and therapies for quality assurance and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Collaborate with primary health care providers, specialists, members of CMHCM health care team, including Medical Assistants, and consumers/families to ensure understanding of healthcare options and the delivery of quality, efficient, and cost‑effective physical and behavioral health care services.

Assess, implement, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate all options and services with the goal of optimizing the consumer's health status based on the principles of recovery and self‑determination. Conduct nursing, OBRA and/or AIMS assessments. Develop person‑centered plans with consumers and provide consumer education. Obtain informed consents as needed. Coordinate and administer injectable medications. Assist and conduct medication reviews. Initiate first aid treatment when necessary.

Provide nursing consultation. Contact pharmacies and coordinate with primary health care physicians. Act as resource person for health issues by interpreting lab work and other medical data and conducts necessary follow‑up activity. Monitor consumers for side effects, high‑risk medications, and consumer blood drug levels. May assist other Clinic Nurse Care Managers in other counties as needed. Serve as nursing advisor for community living facilities/AFC homes.

Perform necessary record keeping according to agency standards. Perform related work as assigned. Work individually, with CMH staff, and with the consumers identified in the targeted high‑risk population. Monitor physical health care interventions and help facilitate/consult on wellness plans for all consumers.
