The Striker / Stocker will learn the building materials business and our branch operation by supporting drivers with deliveries, working in the warehouse, and handling loading/unloading of material in the yard and at delivery sites.
Pay Range$17.00 - $18.00/hour
What You Will Do- Adhere to established safety rules and regulations, maintaining a safe and clean environment.
- Pull, stage, and load orders onto outgoing trucks and at customer sites as directed.
- Aid the driver in inspecting scheduled deliveries to confirm accuracy and secure loading.
- Ride with the driver to the job site to unload product.
- Assist the driver in evaluating delivery sites, noting hazards, obstacles, and guiding maneuvering to avoid damage.
- Handle materials off conveyor and stack material as directed.
- Support driver in maintaining a clean and safe vehicle.
- Assist warehouse associates and supervisors in maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
- Receive incoming products and stock material in appropriate bins or storage locations.
- Operate forklift with foot and hand controls safely to complete orders onto delivery equipment.
- Treat customers, contractors, and associates courteously and cooperatively.
- Maintain awareness of the work environment critical to the task for error‑free results.
- Participate in a positive work environment and provide excellent customer service.
- Complete assigned trainings and comply with all company policies and guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
- Adhere to the company’s commitment to workplace safety.
- High School or GED required.
- 1-3 years as striker, roof loader, or stocker required.
- 1-3 years of warehouse experience required.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast‑pace, ever‑changing environment.
- Ability to work at elevations ranging from ground level to higher platforms.
- Knowledge of and proficiency in safe lifting techniques.
- Basic math, reading orders, writing instructions, and completing forms.
- Effective oral and written communication with customers, employees, and supervisors.
- Constructive conflict resolution and problem recognition.
- Proficiency with or ability to learn current technologies (e.g., smartphone, GPS, and other business applications).
- Forklift Certification required.
