Position Overview

The Senior Auditor plans and executes integrated process, operational, and information systems audits, as well as executes advisory and special projects, under the direction of Audit Management. With limited supervision, this role leads audits, with a data-first risk-based approach delivering value to business partners. The Senior Auditor is a trusted consultant to management, develops less experienced staff, and delivers clear, insightful reporting for senior leadership.

Job Duties / Responsibilities
  • Lead and perform end-to-end integrated process, operational, and information systems audits and special projects across the enterprise, directing day-to-day activities and ensuring delivery against scope, timeline and quality expectations.
  • Oversee and review audit work performed by staff to ensure quality, completeness, and adherence to departmental standards, as well as coach and mentor staff for continuous growth and development.
  • Identify root causes, assess business impact, and partner with management to develop practical, sustainable action plans.
  • Leverage advanced tools (e.g., data visualization, scripting, and audit platforms) to analyze large and complex datasets.
  • Evaluate and integrate artificial intelligence and machine learning use cases into audit processes (e.g., risk sensing, anomaly detection, control testing, and reporting).
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders by providing forward looking insights on risk management, controls, governance, and process improvement.
  • Prepare concise, impactful audit reports and executive level presentations for senior management and the Audit Committee.
  • Translate complex technical, financial, and data driven findings into clear, actionable messages for diverse audiences.
  • Facilitate discussions with senior management to communicate audit results, negotiate corrective actions, and influence control improvements.
  • Perform audit procedures in support of external audit requirements, including SOX and other compliance-driven engagements.
  • Contribute to departmental initiatives that enhance audit processes, training, and tools, including agile auditing practices.
  • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field required.
  • Four (4) or more years of relevant experience in internal audit, public accounting, consulting, finance, information systems, and/or data analytics.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with experience using data analytics and technology enabled audit techniques.
  • Understanding of AI concepts and their practical application to audit and risk management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with business partners.
  • Solid project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to developing others and fostering a collaborative, inclusive team environment.
  • CPA, CIA, CISA, or similar professional certification.
  • Experience with audit management systems, data analytics platforms, and visualization tools.

Additional Details

This position will be domiciled at a Fed Ex Freight location in Memphis, TN or Harrison, AR. You will be required to work at a Fed Ex Freight location several times per week.
