* UPMC Community General Hospital, Harrisburg Hospital, West Shore Hospital, Hanover Hospital, Memorial Hospital and Carlisle Hospitals are hiring Part-Time Physician Assistants or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioners to help support our Emergency Departments.
+ Experienced APPs must have 2 years' experience in Emergency Department, Urgent Care, or completion of an Emergency Medicine Fellowship.
+ For New Grads, we offer a New Graduate Training Program (APEP)- This structured, hands-on program is designed to provide new graduates with the essential skills, clinical knowledge, and confidence needed to excel in their role as an APP in an Emergency Department. As part of our training program, you will work alongside experienced physicians, APPs, and other healthcare professionals to receive personalized mentorship, extensive clinical training, and ongoing education.

Department Details:
We work together as a team with a great group of physicians. We do have residents as 2 campuses but have a good relationship with the physician group. We work in different types of hospitals, rotating through the campuses in different roles. Harrisburg has shifts in a basic/urgent care area. We do a provider in triage role at all 3 sites above seeing patients, starting work ups and helping with patient care through the ED process.
We also work in the main departments with attendings to see patients and treat at all levels of care. We work at top of license to care for patients having stroke symptoms, requiring respiratory or cardiac support to providing urgent care needs and everything in between.

Staff/Senior Level:
The Staff or Senior Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a Physician Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner and a member of the care delivery team. The APP is responsible to set the standards for the level and quality of care. The APP has responsibility, authority, and accountability for the provision of care through supervision by and collaboration with a physician. The APP manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through the application of independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members.
The role of the APP encompasses the beginnings of leadership, partnership, collaboration, and supervision. The APP establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients, and their families, to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care. The APP begins to demonstrate a commitment to the community and to their healthcare profession.

Responsibilities:
