Summary:
The SAP Basis Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing SAP landscapes hosted in a PaaS cloud environment. The role ensures system reliability, performance, scalability, and security using cloud-native tools across platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

Key Responsibilities

SAP Cloud System Administration:

• Manage SAP systems in cloud PaaS environments (e.g., S/4
  
  HANA, Solution Manager).
• Collaborate with cloud providers to ensure performance and availability.
• Utilize cloud-native monitoring, logging, and diagnostics tools.

Upgrades, Patching & Maintenance:

• Execute SAP upgrades, kernel updates, patches.
• Implement automated patching and maintenance using cloud automation tools.

Performance Tuning & Optimization:

• Monitor system performance using SAP and cloud-native tools (Cloud Watch, Azure Monitor).
• Optimize resource usage, load balancing, and cloud scaling.

Cloud Infrastructure & Security:

• Maintain secure connectivity between SAP and enterprise applications.
• Ensure compliance with identity management, encryption, and security frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001).
• Conduct regular security audits.

Backup, Recovery & High Availability:

• Manage high-availability configurations and minimize downtime.
• Configure and test backups and disaster recovery solutions.

Collaboration & Support:

• Work with SAP support, cloud providers, and internal teams.
• Support migrations, module implementations, and automation projects.

Documentation & Training:

• Maintain configuration and workflow documentation.
• Train team members on SAP cloud operations best practices.

Qualifications

Technical

Skills:

• Strong SAP Basis experience in cloud environments (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform).
• Experience with Cloud Formation, Terraform, ARM templates.
• Knowledge of SAP Cloud Connector, SAP BTP, hybrid integrations.
• Hands-on SAP HANA cloud database experience.
• Understanding of cloud security & compliance frameworks.

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to adopt new tools/technologies quickly.

Preferred

Skills:

• Cloud cost optimization strategies.
• Knowledge of Dev Ops tools (CI/CD, Jenkins, Ansible).
• SAP or cloud certifications.

Education:

• Associate degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience:

• 3-5 years SAP Basis experience.
• Minimum 2 years in cloud-hosted SAP environments.
• SAP RISE experience preferred.

Proven PaaS-based SAP systems management and cloud migration experience.
