Are you a passionate and dedicated Year 2 Teacher looking for an exciting opportunity within a nurturing and forward-thinking primary school? We are recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded co-educational primary school in Harpenden
, part of a respected multi-academy trust, for a Year 2 Teacher to join the team on a full-time maternity cover basis

The Role - Year 2 Teacher (Maternity Cover) - Harpenden

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Year 2 teacher who can deliver high-quality teaching and support the school's ethos and values. This is a full-time, maternity cover position, starting in April 2026
.

Key responsibilities
  • Plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons in line with the school's curriculum
  • Support the social and emotional development of pupils
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and learning

    Promote wellbeing and mindfulness across the classroom
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure a consistent and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
  • Hold QTS (or equivalent)
  • Have proven experience teaching in Key Stage 1
  • Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills
  • Be committed to holistic child development and wellbeing
  • Be confident delivering creative, hands-on learning experiences
  • Be enthusiastic, adaptable and a strong team player
  • Able to commute to Harpenden
