Support Worker – Starting Salary: £17161.16 per annum (actual)
Location & Working HoursLocated in Harlow, Part time 29.5 hours per week: 09:00 – 15:30 Mon – Thurs, 09:00 – 15:00 Friday. Term time only, Fixed Term until end June 2026.
About the TeamThe Support Worker team delivers an outstanding level of learning support to Harlow College Supported Studies students. Working alongside teaching staff, we assess and support the learning needs of students across a variety of settings and off‑site locations, providing high‑quality, personalised support that meets learners’ needs.
About the RoleUnder the direction of delivery staff or external employers, the Support Worker will provide practical learning guidance, personal care support, and employment training for individual learners or small groups who have a range of learning difficulties. The goal is to enable learners to take full advantage of their opportunities toward adulthood and independence.
What We Are Looking For- Experience working with young people with learning difficulties or disabilities.
- Awareness of diverse learner needs.
- Level 2 Maths & English, good IT skills, and experience within an educational environment.
- Highly motivated, flexible, organised, and able to motivate learners.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure, communicate with people at all levels, and demonstrate a positive, inclusive, solution‑focused approach.
- Excellent teamwork and record‑keeping skills.
- Willingness to work both in classroom and offsite settings.
