GSL Education is currently recruiting a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to work with a child with autism in a highly regarded primary school in Harlow
. The school benefits from a dedicated SEN provision
, providing a structured, well‑resourced environment with strong staff support.
This full-time position is available immediately and offers the chance to become a valued member of a caring SEN team. You will work closely with one pupil, supporting their learning, emotional regulation, and social development throughout the school day.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities- Delivering individualised 1:1 support for a pupil with autism
- Supporting learning within both the classroom and the specialist SEN setting
- Helping the pupil access lessons through adapted strategies and routines
- Promoting independence, engagement, and positive behaviour
- Working collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and support staff
- Creating a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment
- Has experience supporting children with autism and additional needs
- Is calm, patient, and confident supporting emotional and behavioural needs
- Communicates well and works effectively as part of a team
- Is passionate about inclusive education and child development
- Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or is happy to apply)
- Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3 are beneficial but not essential.
