Job Overview
It is a exciting time to join The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust. PAHT have been awarded the funding to support the vision for the West Essex Community Diagnostics Centre (CDC) in providing timely access to diagnostics for all of the West Essex population, tackling health inequalities and achieving the 28-day Faster Diagnosis Standard (FDS) for all potential cancer and non-cancer patients.
Clinical patient pathways will be joined up between primary, community and secondary care by redesigning existing healthcare provision to include elective and non-elective models of care and extension of opening hours.
Radiology department at Princess Alexandra Hospital seeks a Consultant Radiologist with sub‑specialty interest in Chest Imaging. Position consists of 10 PA per week, with an additional PA for on‑call commitments. Base primarily at Harlow with potential duties garets Epping and Bishops Stortford.
Main Duties- Support Radiology service at PAHT with interest in Chest Imaging and opportunities to expand Chest service.
- Base primarily at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow; may work garets Epping or Bishops Stortford.
- Participate in multi‑disciplinary meetings and teaching Radiology registrars.
- Attend Advisory Appointment Committee scheduled for 29 April 2026.
- Provide expert clinical care in Radiology, including outpatient, inpatient, community and on‑call services.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions in hospital and community settings.
- Contribute to development and implementation of integrated clinical guidelines and protocols.
- Supervise and support resident medical staff.
- Engage in clinical audit, quality improvement and research activities.
- Participate in clinical governance and risk management.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments and external partners.
- Provide teaching and mentorship to medical students, resident doctors, nurses and allied health professionals.
- Participate in postgraduate education and training programmes.
- Support or lead research within the department.
- Contribute to publications and presentations at professional conferences.
- Participate in departmental meetings and service planning.
- Contribute to workforce planning and service redesign initiatives.
- Take on leadership roles as appropriate within the department or Trust.
