Role SummaryThis role provides direct clinical patient care. The RN will assess, plan, and implement direct clinical care to assigned patients on a per‑shift basis. The RN will supervise delegated staff and support the Clinical Nurse Officer to ensure high‑quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, staff competency, and resource management.
Responsibilities- The RN provides high‑quality, safe, and cost‑effective total nursing care to all patients.
- The RN assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process.
- The RN directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control, with the goal of discharging patients with an optimum level of care.
- The RN coordinates and plans patient care within the prescribed medical regime.
- The RN administers all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy.
- The RN fulfills all HICS responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed during emergency or disaster situations.
- The RN knows the hospital’s emergency codes, including purpose and appropriate action for each, and adheres to the hospital policies and procedures for each code.
Required:
Graduate from a state‑approved or accredited school of nursing.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing.
Preferred:
Recent acute care experience.
Required:
Current state license, CPR, AHA BLS, and, if applicable, AHA ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP.
