Responsibilities- Provide high‑quality, safe, cost‑effective, total nursing care to all patients.
- Assume responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process.
- Direct care according to established standards of safety, risk management, QI, and infection control, with the goal of discharging the patient with an optimum level of care.
- Administer all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy.
- Perform and fulfill all HICS (hospital incident command system) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed during emergencies and/or disasters.
- Know the hospital’s emergency codes, their purpose, and appropriate actions, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
This role provides direct clinical patient care. It assumes responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing direct clinical care to assigned patients on a per shift basis, and at the unit level. The role is responsible for supervising staff to whom appropriate care is delegated and for supporting the CNO to ensure high quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.
Education- Required:
Graduated from a state‑approved school of nursing or an accredited school. - Preferred:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing.
- Preferred:
Recent acute care experience.
- Required:
Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy; CPR, AHA BLS, and if applicable by corporate policy for unit of hire, AHA ACLS and/or PALS and/or NRP.
