Registered Nurse; RN - Obstetrics

Overview

Registered Nurse Obstetrics Full Time Days role at Valley Baptist Health System. This position provides direct clinical patient care, assuming responsibility for assessing, planning, and implementing direct clinical care to assigned patients on a per-shift basis. The role supervises staff to whom appropriate care is delegated and supports the Chief Nursing Officer to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and effective resource management related to patient care.

• Provide direct clinical nursing care to assigned patients per shift in the obstetrics department.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care activities; coordinate and integrate care within the prescribed medical regime.
• Supervise staff and ensure tasks are performed in accordance with established standards of safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control.
• Administer medications safely and in a timely manner according to hospital policy.
• Coordinate and plan patient care within the hospital’s policies and procedures; be prepared to fulfill Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) responsibilities during emergencies and/or disasters.
• Be familiar with hospital emergency codes and act according to hospital policies for each code.

• Required:
  
  Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Preferred:
  Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing.

• Preferred:
  Recent acute care experience.

• Required:
  
  Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice as required by law or regulation in the state of practice;
  American Heart Association BLS; and if applicable by corporate policy for the unit of hire, ACLS and/or PALS and/or NRP.
