Compensation & Benefits- Salary Range: $3,047.58 – $4,149.83 per month (TEXAS-A-12)

The Rehabilitation Therapy Technician (RTT) provides moderately complex habilitative and rehabilitative therapy work as an assistant to licensed therapists. Tasks include direct instruction, training, and support of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a variety of therapeutic specialties such as music, occupational, physical, and behavioral therapies.
Essential Job Functions- Attend work regularly; work may include rotating, extended or overtime shifts.
- Implement treatment plans through hands‑on methods and monitor goals through observation.
- Assist in developing and evaluating treatment plans for assigned specialty.
- Support functional skills assessments, including prep, review, and direct observation.
- Train and supervise Direct Support Professionals to ensure continuity of treatment during therapist absences.
- Collect, maintain, and report data to interdisciplinary team and supervisors.
- Complete program‑related paperwork and documentation in compliance with applicable standards.
- Maintain current skills related to assigned responsibilities.
- Participate in disaster response, recovery, or COOP activation as needed.
- Knowledge of therapeutic techniques (e.g., ABA, sensory integration).
- Ability to train staff in treatment methods.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Competence in developing treatment and support plans.
- Capability to manage data collection systems for therapeutic specialties.
- Proficiency with personal computers and relevant software.
- Understanding of ICF/IID regulations and center policies.
- Physical capability to meet demands of direct contact staff.
- Ability to work cooperatively with interdisciplinary teams.
- Valid Texas driver’s license (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire). Out‑of‑state license holders must provide a certified driving record.
- Eligibility to drive a state‑owned vehicle required.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum six months of experience working with individuals who have intellectual and developmental disabilities or performing therapeutic work.
- Preferred experience in ABA, sensory integration, music therapy, therapeutic recreation, dance/movement therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, psychology, or vocational rehabilitation.
- Preferred experience in developing treatment and support plans for this population.
- Must pass fingerprint background check, pre‑employment drug screen, and registry checks (CANRS, Nurse Aide, Medication Aide, Employee Misconduct, LEIE).
- Males 18‑25 must register with Selective Service.
- All employees subject to random drug testing.
- Flexibility for overtime, extended hours, weekends, and holidays.
