Echo Tech EKG PRN

Summary

Performs and monitors echocardiogram procedures, calculates and documents measurements for physician review, communicates changes in patient condition to physicians, managers, and co-workers. May assist with transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE) and stress testing, provide images and critical value reporting, perform EKG and Holter services, and set priorities based on acuity and coordination with nursing and ancillary services.

• Perform echocardiograms using departmental protocol to obtain appropriate images.
• Assist with TEEs and stress testing, providing images that support physician diagnosis.
• Identify problems and implement appropriate interventions, including reporting critical values.
• Set priorities for completing studies based on acuity, patient preference, and coordination of care.
• Provide EKG and Holter services when echo workload permits.
• Obtain EKGs with appropriate lead placement and minimal artifact, provide tracings for physician diagnosis.

• Graduate of accredited CAAHEP or diagnostic medical sonography school.
• Or at least 6 months of clinical experience.

• Required:
  
  6 months in a clinical setting.
• Preferred: 2 years.

• Required:
  
  Registry eligible and AHA BLS.
• Preferred: RDMS, RDCS, or RCS.
