Job DescriptionOperating under the broader umbrella of TSTC's mission, the Associate Program Lead for Nursing plays a pivotal role in facilitating faculty-student relationships, ensuring that the program achieves its performance outcomes. Reporting to the Program Team Lead of Nursing and the campus Provost offices, this role requires a strategic balance of leadership prowess, humanity, and rigorous performance focus. The Associate Program Lead for Nursing, while managing some responsibilities of the Program Team Lead, will predominantly focus on supporting the program's leadership.
The role also encompasses coordination with cross-functional departments to promote TSTC's mission.
The anticipated mid-range salary for this position is $86,880.40, plus full state benefits and generous time off. Actual starting salary will be determined upon background and experience.
Texas State Technical College is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the role of Associate Program Lead for Nursing for our Nursing and LVN Programs. RequirementsAssociate Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
Valid State of Texas Registered Nurse Licensure.
BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
1 year previous teaching experience in related field.
Demonstrated competency in the field.
Competency with technology supporting learning and teaching.
Flexibility in schedule, including availability for evening, weekend, or summer assignments.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Commitment to the mission and vision of TSTC.
Build quality relationships with faculty, students, and industry clients, fostering trust, respect, and empathy.
Provide comprehensive guidance to both assigned students and instructors.
Recruit and retain a highly qualified faculty team, supporting development and cultivating a productive learning environment.
Establish clear performance expectations for faculty and manage performance to achieve organizational goals.
Develop a team environment focused on trust, accountability, candor, commitment, and results.
Communicate regularly and purposefully with faculty to ensure engagement and accountability.
Participate in sales and marketing efforts for the program.
Assist with recruiting, coordinating with campus and statewide campaigns, and engaging faculty in student recruitment.
Represent the program to stakeholders.
Monitor student learning outcomes, coordinating with faculty and resources for evaluation and intervention.
Address systemic barriers to student persistence.
Manage student and faculty grievance processes.
Serve as the primary coordinator for local industrial employer engagement.
Form and cultivate local industrial employer councils, aligning curriculum with labor market trends.
Research and apply industry trends and emerging technology.
Coordinate program resources for recruiting, safety, and course scheduling.
Participate in budget development and manage ongoing operational budgets.
Collaborate with shared services on curriculum and content development.
Contribute to the mission of placing more Texans in great-paying jobs.
Demonstrated leadership in enhancing student achievement in a competency-based learning environment.
Effective coaching and communication skills with a diverse student population.
Successful communication and collaboration with diverse professional colleagues, partners, and stakeholders.
Understanding of a competency-based education model.
Experience leading a team focused on student support and instruction.
Proficient in technology-based educational delivery systems.
Proven ability to work with struggling or at-risk students.
Demonstrated ability to lead a team using a relational leadership style.
