Locums - Medical Doctor - Outpatient Clinic

As a licensed Medical Doctor (MD or DO), you will deliver high-quality internal medicine or family medicine services, supporting the health and well-being of diverse patient populations.

This role is ideal for dedicated physicians seeking a rewarding short-term assignment with competitive compensation.

Required Skills:

  • Current Texas medical license with no sanctions
  • Board eligibility in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
  • DEA, NPI, and CPR/BLS certifications
  • Proven experience in outpatient medical care
  • Ability to perform comprehensive histories, physical exams, and diagnostic evaluations
  • Strong documentation skills in EMR systems
  • Excellent communication and patient management abilities
Nice to Have Skills:
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Experience treating chronic illnesses in outpatient settings
  • Familiarity with Joint Commission and HHSC standards
  • Ability to handle complex medical conditions and behavioral health needs
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • Residency training in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
  • Prior outpatient clinic experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and patient safety
Other Requirements:
  • Availability to start on or around 02/23/2026 for a minimum 2-month contract
  • Willingness to work five 8-hour days between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
  • Compliance with all HHSC immunization, drug testing, fingerprinting, and training requirements
  • Ability to provide care for 16-24 patients daily, including new, established, and walk-in patients
  • Must be able to perform minor injury treatments for state employees if needed
