  • Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is an 83‑bed acute care hospital offering services such as Cardiology, Emergency Services, and a Level IV Trauma Designated ER, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, Gastroenterology, Diagnostic Services and more.
Responsibilities

This position is responsible for coordinating and implementing a program of infection prevention, control, and surveillance under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Completion of education to obtain Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • A current Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the state of Texas is required – OR – a current home 4‑state license is required for multi‑state license recognition through the Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of general nursing experience is required.
  • Previous experience in the role of Infection Prevention and/or specialized training in infection control is required.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
  • Membership in the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology is required.

Preferred

Job Requirements:

  • Infection Control certification
  • Experience with patient safety best practices.
