Tax Manager, Financial Compliance
Position
At ENVIEM’s headquarters in Harderwijk, a new position has arisen for a (Senior) Tax Manager, reporting directly to the CFO. This is a stand-alone role in‑house tax position within the group. The role requires a tax professional who is able to build and structure the tax function, while at the same time being hands‑on and comfortable handling technical matters personally. You will have overall ownership of all tax matters, including functional guidance of colleagues involved in compliance processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identifying tax risks and opportunities and translating these into concrete policy proposals and practical solutions.
- Overall ownership of Corporate Tax, VAT, Transfer Pricing and other tax matters (e.g. CbCR and Pillar2), including oversight of (outsourced) compliance processes and internal checks & balances.
- Setting up and embedding a Tax Control Framework as part of the broader Risk Control Framework.
- Exploring and assessing the potential for Horizontal Monitoring arrangements.
- Advising the Management Board and CFO on tax aspects of acquisitions, restructurings and investment decisions.
- Assessing complex tax positions and defending technical standpoints where required.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for the Dutch Tax Authorities and external tax advisors, including managing and coordinating tax audits.
- Reviewing and advising on excise duties and customs‑related matters, given the nature of the business.
- Participating in acquisition activities, such as (Tax) Due Diligence investigations.
- Identifying opportunities for tax optimisation, including the assessment of available subsidies and incentives.
This role combines strategic responsibility with operational involvement and offers significant freedom to shape the tax function in line with the company’s growth ambitions.

Despite its size, ENVIEM retains an entrepreneurial mindset with short decision‑making lines and a strong focus on growth and operational excellence.
Candidate
The ideal candidate is an experienced, business‑oriented and pragmatic tax professional who enjoys building structures and processes from the ground up in a fast‑moving environment, while remaining closely involved in day‑to‑day tax matters.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Dutch Tax Law or Tax Economics.
- Approximately 10–15 years of relevant experience, including in‑house experience. However, ENVIEM is also open to candidates with less experience that have a proven ambitious mindset and mentality.
- Strong knowledge of Dutch corporate income tax and VAT, with familiarity in excise and customs being a strong plus.
- Experience with M&A transactions and restructurings.
- Comfortable operating independently and advising senior management directly.
- Fluent in Dutch and proficient in English.
- Structured, analytical and able to balance governance with practical execution.
We'd love to hear from you and step into a role where you can truly make a difference.
