Overview
DXP is seeking a skilled and dedicated Fiberglass Pipe Technician - Level III to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in fabricating, assembling, and installing piping systems for various applications, including fiberglass pipe, flanges, and fittings. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that all piping systems are installed correctly and function efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble piping systems according to specifications and blueprints
- Create precise fittings for various applications
- Inspect fiberglass pipes for defects and ensure that fittings meet specifications
- Conduct inspections of installed piping systems to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Utilize tools such as calipers to measure and fit pipes accurately
- Collaborate with other tradespeople on-site to complete projects efficiently
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience with bonding, repairing and fabrication of fiberglass piping material
- Proven experience as a Fiberglass Pipe Technician or in a similar role within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of pipe fabrication techniques, including working with fiberglass and threading
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices on construction sites
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor tasks effectively
- Acceptable driving record according to company guidelines
Additional Information
Physical Demand: Lift 50 lbs. unassisted
Working Conditions: Shop and/or field work
Training/
Certifications:
Certification or relevant training in pipe fitting is preferred but not required
Shift Time/Overtime: 8 am – 5 pm;
Overtime on weekends
Travel: To client sites
Education: High School Diploma
