Social Worker/Therapist – IOP/PHP Therapy Program
River Oaks Hospital, located in metropolitan New Orleans, Louisiana, is a private psychiatric facility for adults, adolescents and children. Since 1970, the hospital has a tradition of excellence in the treatment of acute psychiatric illness, dual diagnosis, alcohol and drug detoxification, trauma-based disorders, compulsive behaviors, and eating disorders. The 14‑acre campus offers services at all levels of care (inpatient, day / partial hospitalization, outpatient, and intensive outpatient).
Responsibilities- Provide clinical social work expertise to hospital-wide programs.
- Deliver social services in assigned areas according to patient needs.
- Adhere to standards of patient quality care.
- Work as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and within guidelines set by the Social Services Department and the individual unit Program Director.
- Perform utilization reviews and discharge planning.
- Minimum two years post graduate work experience in mental health or related field.
- Minimum two years direct practice experience and/or clinical training specific to individual, family and group therapy.
- Master’s degree in a mental health field from an accredited institution.
- Current certification or licensure by the State of Louisiana (LCSW, LPC, or LMFT) or active pursuit of licensure.
- Strong clinical skills to assess dynamics, develop treatment strategies, and collaborate with the treatment team.
- Good analytical ability to evaluate information from all team members and revise treatment strategies accordingly.
- Communication and teamwork abilities to support clinicians, nurses, and utilization review colleagues.
- Working knowledge of community referral resources and case management including discharge planning.
- Minimum one year of experience in discharge planning or clinical case management in a community‑based agency.
- Experience performing utilization reviews.
