Purpose:
The Senior Associate Director of Annual Giving advances Tuck’s mission by leading initiatives to increase fundraising and nurture a culture of philanthropy. Working closely with the Senior Director of Annual Giving and the Annual Giving team, the Senior Associate Director designs and executes innovative strategies that inspire alumni to give, connect, and stay involved with Tuck. Building on Tuck’s exemplary majority giving culture, the Senior Associate Director will implement strategies to meet and exceed fundraising goals.
Education: Bachelors or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 7 or more years of experience in annual giving, alumni engagement, or related development work.
- Demonstrated success in driving participation and building engagement.
- Strong communication, organizational, and volunteer management skills.
- Experience collaborating across teams and working with volunteers.
- Proficiency with donor databases, CRM systems, and digital fundraising tools.
- Able to anticipate, deliver on, and exceed the expectations of alumni, alumni class officers and volunteers, colleagues, supervises, and other constituents.
- Able to introduce and drive innovation in ways small and large.
- Able to collaborate with others as primary means to achieve results.
- Able to seek out and create learning opportunities, including through those revealed by setbacks and failures as well as successes.
Develops and implements strategies to meet and exceed fundraising goals, with a focus on current donors and established classes. Partners with Marketing and Communications, Operations, and Dartmouth Advancement to manage print and email solicitation and stewardship projects, giving sites, and volunteer resources. Tracks metrics, analyzes donor behavior, and identifies trends to inform outreach strategies.
Gift Solicitation and Commitments (25%)Manages a portfolio of alumni prospects and classes with the goal of cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding annual gifts. Identifies and cultivates donor prospects. Partners with class agents, volunteers, and the Annual Giving team to strengthen solicitation efforts and donor retention. Supports reunion giving and class-based campaigns with targeted strategies to improve participation and revenue outcomes.
Team and Volunteer Management (20%)Manages two associate directors. Recruits, trains, and supports alumni volunteers to serve as class agents and peer solicitors. Provides strategic guidance and tools to help volunteers achieve fundraising and participation goals.
Innovation and Program Support (15%)Identifies approaches to expand reach among alumni audiences, leveraging technology and other tools. Contributes to planning and execution of annual giving campaigns, events, and stewardship programs. Seeks out, applies, and shares knowledge of higher education fundraising trends and innovations.
