Mechanical Design Engineer

Key Elements of the Position

• Variety of Projects
  . Work on several clean‑sheet R&D projects at a time. Example current/past projects: spacecraft cryogenic systems, compact combustors, vacuum pumps for Mars rovers, compact heat exchangers, aerosol devices for administering pharmaceuticals, liquid nitrogen cooling systems for cutting tools, precision scroll pumps, and turbines with shaft speeds greater than 500,000 rpm.
• Challenging and Interesting Work
  . Use statics, dynamics, fluid flow, heat transfer, materials, and mechanical design to develop fabrication processes and design, build, and test experimental hardware, working prototypes, and specialized products.
• Talented and Creative Colleagues
  . Team with other creative engineers and highly capable support staff (Designers/Drafters, Mechanical and Electrical Technicians, Precision Machinists). Project teams are small and highly interdisciplinary.
