The Assistant Director will oversee the Center’s community-based experiential education initiatives focused on developing the next generation of social impact leaders. This role involves serving as a member of the Dartmouth Center for Social Impact’s (DCSI) strategic leadership team; management of the Center’s internship, social impact career, and leadership development programs; and leadership of Center-wide communications. This position requires a candidate with deep commitment to, and knowledge of, the social sector, a collaborative work style, communications experience or a willingness to learn, excellent execution and program oversight skills, and the capacity to serve as an inspiring role model and mentor to Dartmouth students.
DescriptionThe Dartmouth Center for Social Impact seeks an individual with a passion for social impact, an ability to collaborate across various stakeholder groups, and the desire to create best in class programming to serve as Assistant Director for the Social Sector Leadership initiatives.
Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs ExpBachelors or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge And Abilities- Seven (7)+ years of work experience in the social sector and higher education.
- Demonstrated expertise in the social sector.
- Previous experience with communications to a variety of stakeholders, including social media, or willingness to learn.
- Supervision and team management success.
- Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness through actions, interactions, and communications with others.
- Exceptional teaching and facilitation skills and the ability to excite, inspire, engage and manage undergraduate students and student groups.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with experience communicating across multiple stakeholder groups (faculty, community partners, students, parents, administrators, etc.).
- Experience with event coordination and project oversight.
- Proficient with computer applications (Word, Excel, database management, etc.).
- Master’s Degree
- Knowledge of community-driven experiential learning and the best practices therein.
- Demonstrated ability to build and cultivate relationships with different stakeholders (students, community partners, staff, etc.).
- Strong self-awareness, interpersonal and collaborative abilities; demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
