Position Purpose

The Trades Training Supervisor oversees the day‑to‑day delivery of training programs for trades personnel, ensuring that instruction aligns with industry standards, safety regulations, and the organization’s strategic goals. The role focuses on coordinating and facilitating comprehensive training that equips the technical workforce with the skills needed to perform safely and effectively. The supervisor collaborates with the Senior Director of CS Organizational Development and Culture, department leaders, subject‑matter experts, and external partners to create a high‑quality learning experience for apprentices and to develop qualified building technicians.

Responsibilities
  • Instruction & Facilitation – Hands‑on training sessions for trades employees and apprentices, focusing on entry‑level skills; guidance and mentorship via one‑on‑one and group sessions.
  • Program Management – Curriculum administration; apprentice program oversight; performance assessment; continuous improvement; training schedule coordination.
  • Culture and Employee Belonging – Foster inclusive culture, participate in division‑wide initiatives, promote the 7 Principles, show professionalism, perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education & Experience – High School plus 5+ years experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience – 8+ years in multiple trades; solid understanding of technical skills and best practices.
  • Industry Standards – In‑depth knowledge of relevant standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Teaching Skills – Demonstrated ability, enthusiasm for teaching, mentoring, or providing on‑the‑job training.
  • Communication – Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem‑Solving – Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
  • Adaptability – Adjust training methods to accommodate different learning styles and evolving industry standards.
  • Preferred Qualifications – Relevant trade certifications or licenses; background in electrical, plumbing, or HVAC; previous training or instructional role; experience developing and managing apprenticeship programs.
