The Pharmacist is responsible for providing specialized pharmaceutical care to patients undergoing fertility treatments. The pharmacist works closely with fertility clinics, prescribers, and patients to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate medication management.
This role supports patients undergoing fertility treatments by providing medication counseling, coordinating with fertility providers, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and clinical standards.
Key Responsibilities- Accurately dispense fertility and reproductive health medications, including injectables, hormones, and specialty compounds
- Verify prescriptions for appropriateness, dosage, interactions, and contraindications
- Ensure proper storage, handling, labeling, and inventory control of fertility medications
- Maintain compliance with state pharmacy laws, USP standards, and organizational policies
- Provide clear, compassionate counseling to patients on medication administration, storage, side effects, and adherence
- Educate patients on injectable fertility medications and treatment protocols
- Respond to patient questions and concerns with sensitivity and confidentiality
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, pharmacy regulations, and accreditation standards
- Participate in quality assurance, audits, and process improvement initiatives
- Manage inventory levels, ordering, and expiration tracking for fertility medications
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm
D) degree - Experience in medication dispensing in a retail, hospital, or specialty pharmacy setting
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
- Experience with fertility, IVF, or reproductive health medications a bonus
