The Opportunity

As the Director MII
- Reinsurance, you will be part of the Met Life Insurance Investments (MII) team and is responsible for in‑force portfolio management and developing investment strategy and providing new business pricing support to Met Life line of business partners. You will focus primarily on Reinsurance entities for both in‑force portfolio management and design of optimal investment strategies in support of new business opportunities and growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide oversight of our Reinsurance Investment portfolios, mostly domiciled in Bermuda
  • Lead development of detailed investment strategy via portfolio optimisation analysis for reinsured portfolios, seeking strategies that deliver maximum value within a reinsurance framework and applicable risk constraints
  • Partner with counterparts in the business, Reinsurance and Actuarial to develop optimal asset allocation and new business pricing strategies under the Bermuda regulatory capital framework
  • Partner with Met Life Investment Management (MIM) to identify attractive investment opportunities in support of pricing / investment strategy
  • Present investment strategy, sensitivities, and scenario analysis to MII partners and management, including Global Risk Management, Finance, and line of business representatives
  • Monitor and oversee investment performance and key risk / return metrics on an actual vs. expected basis
  • Contribute to the oversight and management of Corporate & Reinsurance in‑force investment portfolios
  • Support the Corporate & Reinsurance team on strategic projects aimed at increasing portfolio profitability and/or mitigating portfolio risks
  • Using quantitative tools such as Blackrock Aladdin and Bloomberg, evaluate cash flow, key rate duration, and ALM profiles of new business pricing strategies vs. liabilities
  • Participate in Annual Plan process, including providing guidance on potential attractive asset needs in support of new business pricing
  • Present and obtain approval through ALM governance process (ALM Working Groups, ALM Committees, etc.) of shifts in new business investment / pricing strategy
  • Lead development of and/or present investment‑related presentation materials to business partners
  • Partner with MIM on asset related analysis for new Reinsurance initiatives
Required Qualifications
  • Strong quantitative skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience using Black Rock/ Aladdin and Bloomberg systems
  • Asset‑liability management experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build partnerships and work in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to multi‑task in a fast paced, less structured environment
Desired Skills
  • MBA or CFA preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Math, or related field
  • 10 years of work experience at an insurance company or in financial services industry
Location & Compensation

Location expectation:
This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office. The expected salary range for this position is $156,700 to $208,900. This role may also be eligible for annual short‑term incentive compensation and stock‑based long‑term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
