Hourly wage: $29 - $32 per hour
Essential Functions:
- Plan, coordinate, and optimize daily shipping schedules, evaluating route efficiency and cost effectiveness.
- Secure competitive over the road freight quotes and negotiate with brokers and carriers as needed.
- Assign appropriate transport equipment based on load specifications, dimensions, and regulatory requirements.
- Dispatch company drivers and coordinate third party carriers (3PL) when necessary.
- Generate and process Bills of Lading (BOL) and other shipping documentation within the ERP system.
- Track, trace, and proactively communicate shipment status updates to stakeholders.
- Process transportation related work orders and freight invoices.
- Review and process driver timesheets for accuracy and payroll submission.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, permitting requirements, and company policies.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and complete required training programs.
- Analyze transportation processes to identify cost savings, efficiency gains, and service improvements. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Support Asset Management by investigating and resolving equipment discrepancies within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Perform additional duties assigned to support operational needs.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in transportation coordination, scheduling, or logistics operations.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience utilizing logistics or transportation management software.
- Experience working with 3PL providers and managing internal fleet dispatch.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment and decision-making.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of freight markets, 3PL coordination, and internal fleet routing.
- Understanding of inventory management and asset allocation processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with ERP, WMS, and logistics software preferred.
- Experience securing oversize height permits.
