Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown unit position requiring night shifts, 1-2 years of experience, and a MO or compact license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Stepdown unit within a short-term acute care hospital

• Patient ratio is 1:3

• Floating to med tele, med surg, and rehab units as needed

• Night shift, 3x12 hour schedule from 19:00 to 07:00

• Every third weekend is required

• May be scheduled for charge nurse duties

• Experience with special procedures and equipment:
Thoracentesis, Paracentesis, Bipap, Airvo

• Requires administration of drips such as Cardizem, Amio, Heparin, and Dobutamine

• Charting is done using EPIC

• Black scrubs required

• Free parking provided

• All time off requests must be included at the time of application

• First-time travelers are accepted

• May request a block schedule during application

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license

• 1-2 years of recent Stepdown experience required

• Current ACLS and BLS certifications through AHA required

• Must be comfortable caring for isolation patients, including COVID

• Experience with critical care medication drips required

• Two professional references needed for consideration

• Applicants must reside outside a 60 mile radius of the facility
