Job OverviewAs a Field Merchandiser, you will work independently to showcase your organization and time‑management skills, establish retailer relationships, and represent Hallmark. You will collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement, maintain inventory levels, and support seasonal resets and installations when needed. Occasionally you may work with other products from other companies in the stores you serve.
Salary and Schedule Details- Your starting hourly pay rate will be $16.90 to $18.90 depending on skills and experience.
- Eligible Employees receive annual pay increases.
- This is a Part‑Time position with a variable schedule during the work week.
- Average weekly hours are between 8‑20 hours.
- Availability the week before and after major holidays, including weekends, is required.
You’ll perform service work in the Hallmark department of various retail stores such as grocery, drug, department, and mass retailers. The role consists of three major components:
- Day-to-day engagement: Using a mobile device provided by Hallmark, restock, organize, and monitor Hallmark product inventory inside and outside the Hallmark department. Technology is critical for daily work, communication with supervisors, reporting hours, providing feedback, and completing required merchandising activities. Professional and courteous interaction with store employees, management, and customers is vital.
- Holiday support: Hallmark’s operations revolve around seasonal demand. Leading up to and following holidays such as Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, you may work additional days and extended hours, including on the holidays themselves and weekends.
- Department resets: Participate in installations and other tasks such as building and installing Hallmark fixtures, relocating card departments, and resetting card sections. You will typically be notified two weeks in advance for remodel assignments and may be required to work evenings or weekends.
- Team support: As part of Hallmark’s field organization, you are part of a network of merchandisers who support one another in their territories.
This is a physically demanding role requiring high energy and urgency. You will work on the selling floor and in back stockrooms, consistently pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures up to 30 pounds, and up to 50 pounds on occasion. You will also kneel, squat, walk, stand, and may need to climb stairs or step ladders.
Basic Qualifications- At least 18 years of age.
- Proficient reading, writing, and understanding of English.
- Ability to grip, pull, lift, and carry products up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to operate a digital hand‑held device to read documents and interpret information.
- Access to a Wi‑Fi network and the internet.
- Reliable transportation to travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.
