An externship experience at an NVA hospital will give students the unique opportunity to understand the day-to-day operations of the practice, and to gain valuable hands‑on clinical experience. Responsibilities- Gather patient histories
- Perform physical exams
- Creation of treatment plans
- Diagnostics
- Dental services
- Assist in or perform surgical procedures
- Medical management of patients
- Practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients
- 3rd or 4th year veterinary student
- In the clinical portion of veterinary education
Veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a stipend. The stipend amount for Hanford Veterinary Hospital is $1,500.
