Adventist Health Hanford has served the Central Valley since 1965 with a 173-bed hospital and multiple outpatient clinics, providing primary and specialty care in a tight-knit community.

Organizes and facilitates patient care in the Operating Room (OR), coordinating overall care between surgeon, anesthesiologist, and OR staff. Functions as a first assistant during surgical incision, excision, and repair across perioperative procedures. Participates in preoperative assessment and planning with the healthcare team, demonstrating expertise in medication, treatment, and patient care standards.

Education and Work Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN):
  Preferred
• Two years' perioperative nursing experience:
  Preferred

Licenses/Certifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice:
  Required
• Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) certification in the state of practice:
  Required
• Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) certification in the state of practice:
  Preferred
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification:
  Required
• Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification:
  Required
• Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Status (PEARS) / Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification:
  Preferred
• Association of perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) membership:
  Preferred

Department Specific License/Certifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Healthstream ACLS or RQI ACLS:
  Required

• Perform circulating and scrubbing duties; confirm surgical site, blood counts, and assist with suturing and instrumentation.
• Assist with patient transfer, positioning, prepping, and draping; maintain aseptic technique.
• Inspect sterile items, maintain sterility, prepare instruments, and support surgeon's needs with minimal supervision.
• Document nursing diagnoses, plans of care, interventions and responses; mentor and educate staff.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
