Description
SAIC is seeking and Cable Fabrication Technician I for our Hanahan, SC customer site. This position is 100% on site.
The Engineering Technician will be primarily tasked with:
* Performing moderate to complex vehicle integration tasks to include cable routing, metal work installations, and technical support to integrate, install, modify, and perform upgrades in support of C5
ISR systems.
* Provide occasional assistance to related support areas, including but not limited to kitting and warehouse operations.
* Read and follow integration documentation, written or verbal instructions, schematics, rough sketches, drawings and diagrams, layouts, and plans often requiring interpretation.
Qualifications
Required
Education and Experience:
* Associates degree in Engineering Technology, math or science or formal electronics training from a technical school, Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or four year apprentice program or High School Diploma or GED.
* Two (2) years of experience with formal degree/ training or Four (4) years of related experience with a HS/ GED. Experience to include doing any of the following: integration, manufacturing; or maintenance.
* Must be US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance. Active DoD clearance accepted.
* Must have a valid Driver's License.
* Be able to safely complete all of the physical demands of the job in a manufacturing environment, including but not limited to the following:
o Lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying up to 50 pounds, unassisted, on a regular basis.
o Walking, bending, stooping, sitting, standing or squatting for extended periods.
o Walk distances of at least one-half mile daily.
o Repeatedly manipulating and handling tools needed for installing electronics and metal work into vehicles. Familiar with the use and operation of power tools is necessary.
* Move and arrange heavy cable supplies and electronic equipment.
