Description
SAIC is looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to perform inspections, ensure conformance, and ensure products/deliverables meet or exceed the customers' expectations for all Mobile Command Vehicle (MCV) components in Hanahan, SC.
Job Duties- Conduct inspections of incoming parts and First Article Inspections (FAI) using functional, design, process, and other contractual requirements for electrical parts, mechanical parts, and assemblies.
- In-process inspections prior to the customer inspections. Verify subassemblies and installations met requirements to commercial and military engineering drawing specifications, workmanship standards, and that the applicable documentation was completed. Recorded observations and trends of product quality to identify areas that needed improvement.
- Coordinate inspection findings with the quality team members, production leads, the applicable engineer to promote better quality in the production process and product and improve customer satisfaction. Documented findings, observations, or anomalies in accordance with nonconformance systems and procedures providing the Supplier Quality Engineers with trends in vendor product quality and performance.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree and 4 years of experience.
- Or:
Associate Degree in Engineering Technology, or formal electronics training from:
Technical school, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications and 8 years of hands-on experience on the operations, analysis, test installation or maintenance of the C5
ISR systems with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Analytical Thinking: Capability to analyze, trouble shoot data, interpret technical drawings and schematics, knowledge of cable assemblies, and apply information to practical tasks.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Hands-on experience with QA methodologies, proficiency with tools and equipment, i.e. multi-meter, calipers, micrometer, screwdrivers, mechanical tools, etc.
- Attention to Detail: Precision in performing tasks, and documenting results to ensure accuracy and deliver high quality work.
- Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication abilities to interact with various departments, team members and document work.
- Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Computer Efficiency: Basic computer skills and programs, i.e. Email, MS Word, Excel, etc.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot, resolve issues and provide effective solutions.
- Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills to work effectively with other team members and project holders.
