Wound Care Nurse RN

Villa Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Wound Care Nurse RN to join our team at the St. Joseph's Villa Center. The role focuses on specialized wound care, ostomy care, and continence disorder care forterm residents.

Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care for residents with gastrointestinal stomas, skin ulcers, drains, surgical incisions, or pressure sores.
  • Assess and implement wound treatment protocols to prevent infection and promote healing, especially in patients with diabetes or compromised circulation.
  • Complete and maintain all necessary medical documentation, including charting, reports, and evaluations.
  • Adhere to infection prevention standards and update protocols as needed.
  • Deliver 24/7 nursing services, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and supporting non‑licensed staff.
  • Conduct resident assessments, observe changes, and implement care plan interventions.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and staff, ensuring information is accurate and timely.
  • Follow company policies on HIPAA compliance and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
  • CPR and current BLS certification.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Expert knowledge in wound care.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Understanding of infection control policies and procedures.
  • Flexible to accommodate a varied schedule, including occasional overnight travel.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Current RN license in the State of practice.
  • 1 year of experience in long‑term care is preferred.
  • Long‑term care experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk, reach, bend, lift, sit for extended periods, and manipulate small objects.
  • Capability to perform tasks with or without mechanical assistance.
  • Awareness of environmental hazards and adherence to safety protocols.
