Master Electrician

We're seeking a seasoned, licensed Master Electrician ready to take the lead on major projects, mentor up-and-coming electricians, and ensure excellence in every installation, in support of our customer at the Hampton Roads Harbor Tunnels.

This position offers a consistent, set schedule with a guaranteed 40 hours a week, paid training, and opportunities for overtime available.

Essential Functions:

* Maintain electrical wiring system and components in accordance with the provisions of the National Electrical Code and Industry Standards.

* Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.

* Diagnose causes of electrical problems or failures to identify equipment and/or systems for repair.

* Inform personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders to provide information for making decisions.

* Inspect electrical systems and their components to evaluate their condition, identify necessary repairs, and recommend preventive maintenance actions.

* Operate and use required tools and equipment skillfully and safely; assemble, install, maintain, and repair electrical apparatuses; make rough sketches; estimate cost, time, and materials of electrical work.

* Inspect, troubleshoot, isolate, and repair electrical malfunctions using various test instruments.

* Maintain, test, and repair electrical equipment for safety and efficiency; plan the layout and wiring of new or existing installations.

* Fabricate electrical parts; inspect completed work to conform with specifications, requirements, and compliance with applicable exterior and interior safety codes and regulations.

* Inspect related work performed by contractors; estimate cost, time, and materials for electrical projects; participate in the maintenance and operations of an electrical shop.

* Clean, maintain, and service tools and equipment used while performing duties.

* Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical load centers and distribution systems.
