Position Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing maintenance and support of all corporate facilities that include but are not limited to: carpentry, painting, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, housekeeping, snow removal and grounds maintenance. This position assists with supporting the short and long-term planning and execution of all facility maintenance and repair activities.

Essential Duties
  • Supports the company's business plan by providing expertise and preventative maintenance for all corporate owned and leased properties within designated region. Ensures prompt action on maintenance requests and provides hands on support and guidance to oversee repairs and upgrades as needed.
  • Assesses all maintenance requests and prioritizes level or urgency, partnering with business units.
  • Performs standard repairs to the building's electrical systems that include fixtures, switches, photocells, outlets, and troubleshoots for solutions. When necessary, assists licensed electricians with additional repairs as appropriate.
  • Performs standard repairs of heating, ventilation, and cooling systems for the facility such as cleaning vents, repairing thermostats, and adjustment of system controls; and troubleshoots for solutions. When necessary, assists licensed HVAC contractors with additional repairs as appropriate.
  • Performs standard repairs of plumbing systems such as repairs of leaking hardware, toilets, faucets, sinks, and/or performing modifications to plumbing and water supply systems. When necessary assists licensed plumbers, as appropriate.
  • Performs carpentry tasks including routine sheetrock/drywall installation and/or repair, windows, cabinets, shelves, railings, painting and texturing, door and hardware installation, and paints interior and exterior finishes, as appropriate.
  • Performs routine structural repairs to corporate owned properties that include, repairing and/or replacing gutters and downspouts, drains, and other minor roof repairs.
  • Performs routine property maintenance tasks that include parking lot repair and striping.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Performs inventory control of maintenance equipment and supplies; purchases equipment and supplies as necessary. Documents facilities maintenance requirements and maintains appropriate records of work performed.
  • Performs snow and ice removal, as required, and miscellaneous weather related duties as necessary.
  • Participates in department on-call rotations and may be required to work outside of normal business hours.
  • Responsible for conducting quality control and inspections and ensuring that all daily and periodic tasks are completed as scheduled.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities

    The associate in this position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

    Education / Experience / Certificates / Security Clearance

    • High School Diploma or GED preferred.

    • 1-3 Years' experience in a related field preferred.

    • No professional certifications are required for this position.

    • Valid state driver's license, insurance and satisfactory driving record are required.

    • This position will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check and sex offender check.

    • Basic ability to operate a computer using Microsoft Office software and basic typing skills, required.

    • Experience with Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office products, required. Experience with SharePoint preferred. Knowledge of the proper use of a cellphone and I‑Pad is preferred.
