General Purpose

The Retail Associate ensures customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets customers, treats fellow associates with respect, follows company best practices, maintains a clean work area, and supports proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may be asked to perform additional tasks as needed to meet customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions
  • Practice safe behaviors and maintain a safe, clutter‑free sales floor.
  • Treat customers and associates with respect and courtesy; be friendly and professional at all times.
  • Assist customers—register‑trained, answer questions, and provide prompt, efficient service.
  • Respond to customer service calls immediately; handle issues courteously and involve leadership when necessary.
  • Represent and support the company brand at all times.
  • Perform cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters, replenishing restrooms, disinfecting high‑touch areas).
  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the dress code.
  • Perform daily assigned sizing and recovery to keep the store neat, clean, and organized.
  • Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor, merchandize per best practices, and maintain brand familiarity.
  • Understands Loss Prevention awareness, Shortage Highway, and merchandise protection standards.
  • Demonstrate integrity and honesty; safeguard confidential information, cash, and merchandise.
  • Follow MOS policies, cash handling procedures, and maintain accuracy with bankable tenders.
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency to maximize productivity and minimize steps in workflow.

Qualifications and Special Skills
  • Effectively communicate with customers, associates, and store leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative manner.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements / ADA
  • Use all store equipment (PDTs, registers, PC).
  • Stand, walk, and move 100% of the working time.
  • Regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
  • Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds.
  • Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other supplies.
  • Stockroom shifts may require pushing, pulling, and lifting over 20 pounds.
