Job Description
Retail Parts Pro – Professional level sales position supporting advanced functions of the DIY business. Requires expert knowledge of store system, advanced automotive system knowledge, and parts knowledge. Responsibilities include advanced identification, troubleshooting, and project assistance for DIY customers. Ability to source from multiple locations (special order, FDO, second source, etc.) and in-depth knowledge of store inventory and maintenance processes. Full-time position.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Deliver GAS2 selling experience for DIY customers via in-store visits and phone calls.
- Achieve personal/store sales goals and service objectives.
- Manage DIY services (battery installation, testing, wiper installs, etc.).
- Maintain high customer service and store appearance standards.
- Key holder duties: task assignment and completion, safety, opening/closing duties.
- Assist with store inventory processes (truck put-away, cycle counts, back stock, etc.).
- Maintain store cleanliness (floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot).
- Provide DIY services (battery installation, testing, wiper installs, etc.).
- Friendly communication.
- Ability to locate and stock parts.
- Safety knowledge and skills.
- Operating inventory systems and store equipment.
- Parts and automotive system knowledge.
- Operating POS and parts lookup systems.
- Expertise in testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY services.
- ASE P2 certified or ASE ready equivalent.
- Advanced solution/project/product recommendation ability.
- Advanced parts lookup and sourcing.
- Advanced selling skills for DIY.
Job Skills
- Working knowledge of automotive systems; diagnostic ability (internal engine, suspension, brakes, electronic, exhaust, etc.).
- Speak and write English (Spanish a plus). Effective communication and strong relationships with customers, peers, and management.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, procedure manuals; write simple correspondence.
- Understand and execute written, oral, or diagram instructions.
- Complete Parts Knowledge Assessment.
- Use basic math accurately (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
- Use Microsoft software effectively (Word, Excel required).
- Strong organizational skills.
- Work assorted days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
3-5 years of prior automotive parts experience. Proven sales ability in fulfillment of customer transactions.
Education & CertificationsValid driver’s license required. ASE certification preferred (not required).
Physical DemandsFull-time position with typical physical demands of retail environment.
