Are you a motivated leader with a passion for managing people and resources? We’re looking for a dynamic Branch Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Northampton Branch. In this role, you’ll be responsible for directing staff, managing resources, and ensuring the effective operation and service delivery of your assigned site. Working independently with limited supervision, you’ll have the autonomy to lead your team while reporting major activities during regular check-ins.

- Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited Library School.
- Certification as a professional librarian by the State of Virginia.
- Five (5) years of full-time equivalent professional library experience.
- Three (3) years of supervisory experience.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered for this position.
- Must successfully pass a background check related to this position before any offer of employment or promotion.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driving record based on the City of Hampton’s criteria.
- May require working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek to include evenings and weekends.
- May require some local travel.
- The incumbent may be considered “essential personnel” during city emergencies, or at the direction of the City Manager or designee, which may include long hours and unusual schedules.
