Job DescriptionThe Unix Admin will be responsible for:
- Providing Tier 2 support, based on industry standards, to clients for all system problems and anomalies. Support trouble tickets submitted via the electronic problem reports system.
- Preparing systems (mission servers, UNIX workstations) for security accreditation.
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining Red Hat Linux and Solaris operating systems, to include Operating System (OS), application software patches, and service packs.
- Performing user account, group, and directory maintenance on all systems as needed.
- Managing user and group policies and rights; conducting auditing for the same.
- Reviewing security, network, and system auditing and remediating identified anomalies.
- Analyzing and resolving problems associated with UNIX workstation and server hardware, operating systems, applications software, and adhering to mandated requirements and guidelines.
- Preparing, testing, and implementing scripts to simplify system tasks for domain core services.
- Performing backup and recovery procedures utilizing and managing media backup of RAID storage devices.
- Maintaining Test and Integration Facility workstations and Test Bed workstations.
- Supporting Wing ISSO and local Network Security Managers to identify and resolve security-related server, workstation, and application issues.
- Supporting military and Government personnel on systems.
Five (5) plus years with hands-on and proven experience utilizing the following systems/tools:
- UNIX
- Oracle/Solaris OS
- NIS+
- Web Logic
- Oracle (a plus)
Active Secret clearance required for this position.
