Monday-Friday, 12:00 PM-8:00 PM, with on-call responsibilities

The Full-Time Residential Supervisor for the MH Regional Supervised Housing Program plays a crucial role in transforming the lives of individuals with severe mental illness and possible co-occurring substance use disorders. To succeed as a Full-Time Residential Supervisor in the MH Regional Supervised Housing Program, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, such as Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or Counseling, along with two years of experience in service collaboration, coordination, and psychoeducation. Strong leadership skills and the ability to supervise and train staff are essential, as is having at least three years of practice as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP), with registration from the Board of Counseling.

Familiarity with therapeutic techniques and a commitment to empowering individuals with severe mental illness and co-occurring disorders will be crucial. Additionally, candidates should have a Valid Virginia driver’s license to facilitate client engagement and program participation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate empathy, strong communication abilities, and a dedication to fostering independence in clients while maintaining a high standard of care within a supportive team environment.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services such as Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or Counseling
  • Two (2) years of experience providing service collaboration coordination and psychoeducation services. Supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Must be registered with the Board of Counseling as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) have a minimum of three (3) years of practice and meet eligibility requirements to serve as a QMHP Supervisor.
  • Valid Virginia driver’s license.
