AFCS is looking for 3 Full-Time Licensed Clinical Social Workers (GS-0185-12) to work in support of the 633rd Air Base Wing True North program on Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Hampton, Virginia.
These positions are open exclusively to current Department of War (DoW) federal employees. Applicants must submit their most recent SF50 to verify eligibility. Applications without the required SF50 and other supporting documents will be considered incomplete and will not be forwarded for consideration.
Salary Range is $90,838 - $118,092 based on experience. Recruitment incentives may be available.

Responsibilities- Provide a full range of professional social work services within operational Air Force squadrons and serve as a member of a multidisciplinary Integrated Operational Support (IOS) team directly supporting the Line of the Air Force (LAF) mission assigned True North program.
- Focus on education and prevention, psychosocial assessment and diagnosis, and evidenced-based interventions and treatment to build resiliency, enhance human performance, and improve unit mission effectiveness.
- Apply clinical and administrative duties to support the True North program and the IOS team.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Master's degree in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education and the ability to fulfill all degree requirements.
- Current, unrestricted license to practice clinical social work independently in one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (current and maintainable).
- Meet all credentialing requirements per local military treatment facility guidelines and be fully qualified to perform within the scope of practice.
- Experience practicing as an independent licensed clinical social worker within the past two years.
- Professional knowledge of social work practices, principles, theories, and administrative requirements; knowledge of evidence-based treatments for a range of psychiatric disorders and ability to plan and provide treatment.
- Knowledge of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) and ability to evaluate psychiatric disorders and apply diagnostic skills.
- Knowledge of military organizations and culture and the unique stressors of an operational military workplace.
- Knowledge of administration, scoring, and interpretation of select psychological and psychosocial measures to assess patients and families; ability to engage appropriate protections when risk of harm to self or others is present.
- Ability to provide guidance and consultation services to medical professionals and military leaders, and facilitate referrals to military or community-based human service agencies and resources.
